Nobody Does it Better.

IMG_6690You truly are the best!

More often than not our remedy to being sick is to jump in the car and run to the Dr. without first asking, “What have I been doing to weaken my immune system?”

For the last two weeks, I have been dealing with an infection.

For as long as I can remember, my habit has been to worry. Funny thing is, almost 95% what I worry about never comes to fruition. Yet, I have given much of my time and energy to worrying.

Worry equals stress. Extended worrying equals chronic stress. Our body is not in favor of chronic stress. In fact, it rebels in the form of inflammation, tension and eventually illness or disease sets in.

Since I moved to Florida, I have done more medical interpreting in the last 6 months than I have done in 23 years.

Now I would like to totally blame my recent infection on the exposure to various medical settings. But I know I had a part to play in the weakening of my immune system i.e. worrying, making my body more susceptible.

Your body wants to be healthy. Getting to the root cause lessens the odds of recurring symptoms.

I am not saying not go see the Dr. and let him/her help you resolve the symptoms. But the Dr. is only providing a temporary “Band-aid.”

You can be the REAL hero here by addressing the root cause in an effort to maintain good health.

Nobody does it better.                                                                                                               Nobody does it half as good as you.                                                                                           Baby, you’re the best.

The Rhythm is Going Get You

In the mornings, I open my window to the music of the outdoors. The music of the birds singing, the squirrels chattering, the cats meowing, the roosters crowing and often the rain tap dancing on my patio. I begin to smile. I am reminded that nature has its own radio frequency.

When I return home in the late afternoon or evening again, I will open the window and its as if by osmosis the radio frequency changed. I hear music from down the street or across the way, only I realize I don’t understand the lyrics. Sometimes it’s Indonesian, or French and sometimes it’s Indian or even the Muslim call to prayer. Since I don’t understand the language, I am drawn purely by the beauty of the rhythm. I feel myself start to relax and smile and glide across the room and break out in dance.

Try tuning into these frequencies occasionally and let nature and the natural flow of your energy play for you what you most need to hear.

I promise, “the rhythm will get you and make you either smile and or dance or both.

Let’s Play

I decided to play with energy once again and focus on attracting those with similar interests and practice trusting my intuition.
Here is what happened next.

The aroma of cinnamon, cardamon, cumin and coriander lured me into a small Indian restaurant. I noticed there were a few places left to sit. I ask a lady if I could take the seat directly across from her. She nodded and gestured for me to take a seat.
After the initial how do you do’s, I said instead of you telling me what you do I would like to guess. She said ok. I said you are or were a writer and a marketer of international goods. She raised her gaze from her plate smiled and replied as a matter of fact yes. She said she was from France, and I said I would have thought you were from Turkey. She asked, what made you think I was Turkish? I said, don’t know. She smiled and said well my husband is an American Turk. We looked at each other and chuckled. I told her I was experimenting with trusting my intuition and focusing on attracting others with similar energy. I shared with her that I have a blog, and my intent is to encourage others to challenge their fears and live outside their box. She said it is interesting that you say that.
I established a non-profit organization called Women on a Mission. She explained the mission of her non-profit is to encourage women who have a passion for adventure to experience life outside their comfort zone, traveling to places that push them to their limits. Each woman who chooses to participate in an adventure is required to raise funds for a worthy cause and support those less fortunate.
I had this BIG cheesy grin on my face and thought is this fun or what?

Try playing with attracting the energy you want more of in your life and then share with me your experiences. I would love to hear!
